Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog. I’m Joni, a self professed foodie adventurer. I regularly travel for my day job around the country. I love trying anything new as well as finding the “best I’ve ever had”. I hope to inspire you to try new things as I take you along my Good Nom Adventures.

The One and Only ATL

It's been a few years since I've been to Atlanta. It's was definitely before I became an official foodie so there was no planning or bucket list. This time around is a whole different story. Not only will The A be my playground for a few days, but I also get to adventure around with one of my bestest girlfriends. Even though we're not in the same town anymore, much less the same state, we will always find ways to have ourselves some fun. This summer that means having a girls extended weekend where we get to do anything our hearts desire, which of course involves awesome food adventures. Though not comprehensive of all the places I anticipate we'll go, below is a good starter for our bucket list adventures.

Ba Bellies

Although not exactly in Atlanta, I couldn't resist an Asian Gastropub, what a perfect and unexpected combination. Ba Bellies is a new restaurant in Norcross that just opened up within the last few weeks and has gotten great positive press. With interesting menu items I can see why. A couple that caught my eye include the 24 Hour Short Rib and Notorious P.I.G. May also have to order the Fish Sauce Caramel Wings or Mango Sticky Rice. I am looking forward to trying out one of the hottest restaurants,  #2 in fact, in Atlanta according to Eater

JCT Kitchen & Bar

Sometimes I don't remember how things make it to the list, but when I write down something as specific as "Sunday Supper" I know it's for a reason. After looking at the menu, it's a done deal. You start with a salad and deviled eggs to share, but then you have your choice of meats plus three sides. I already have thoughts of Fried Chicken or Oxtail & Gravy dancing around in my head accompanied by mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and heirloom tomatoes. Yum!

Sublime Doughnuts

You really can't go anywhere these days without finding a gourmet doughnut place so naturally I searched for one in Atlanta. May I present Sublime Doughnuts. I'm excited to try the Orange Dream Star, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and (not or....AND) the Raspberry Filled Heart. Oh, wait, there's also the Salt and Vinegar. Yeah, that's definitely going on the bucket list.

Gu's Dumplings

When a main restaurant opens up a smaller location just to serve it's best sellers to a certain part of the city, you gotta give them a try. Gu's Dumplings serves up the #8 of the top 25 most iconic Atlanta dishes per Eater. I love me some dumplings and I'm really looking forward to trying them out, even if they are on the spicy side. I'm living a little on the hot and spicy side this trip.

Holeman & Finch Public House

I love me a good burger and the one at Holeman & Finch sounds like a home run. It used to only be available in limited quantities after 10am. But after being a hit it finally made it to the regular menu. Along with their famous burger, they also serve up daily plates like fish and chips on Fridays and BBQ pork shoulder on Saturday. I spy with my little eye beef marrow on the menu so that may have to go in my belly as well.
